Living Water

Celebrate Hope

For the past two years, Bethany Community Church in Seattle has dared to imagine a world where the hope of Jesus and his resurrection overflows into the world, spilling out into every corner of the planet. It’s called Spilling Hope, and it is spreading the word about the global water crisis and knocking down the walls that divide the rich and the poor.

Starting on Easter Sunday each year, the project dares participants to change the way they live in order to change the world—so it’s more than simply writing another check. It’s about simplifying, making sacrifices. It’s about learning about development issues. It’s about giving generously. All of these things begin to add up, and the overflow can’t be contained. Hope spills into the world.

Last weekend, Spilling Hope hosted its third annual Water Walk in Seattle, symbolically walking in the footsteps of those who do not have access to clean water. On Sunday, June 12th, the Spilling Hope campaign will wrap up with a Celebration Sunday, where campaign and rejoice in the transformative work that God has done and will continue to do.

To date, Spilling Hope has raised over $330,000 to fund 33 wells with Living Water International in Uganda.  If your church or organization would like to learn more about getting involved in Spilling Hope contact info@spillinghope.org, visit spillinghope.org, and click here for a free music download.
