Health and Hygiene
At Living Water International we believe that drilling a well isn’t enough. Having a clean water source is essential to the health of a village; however, the combination of clean water and improved hygiene behavior reduces the number of deaths by diarrheal diseases by an average of 65%. Living Water International is committed to providing–at minimum an introduction to health and hygiene principles at every new well we drill that is culturally and developmentally appropriate.
Hygiene Training
LWI offers a one day hands-on training seminar in health and hygiene education that utilizes the Participatory Learning method. This approach uses our Living Well Club. This curriculum was created for teaching school-aged children the importance of basic health and hygiene and has creatively wrapped these lessons around Bible stories. These lessons can be modified for adults as well, and can be facilitated during the week of your short term trip.
Topics include:
Importance of hand washing, Keeping water clean, Oral re-hydration skills, Oral hygiene, the integration of spiritual truths into lessons about physical wellness.
Registration:
Registration in the Health and Hygiene Training Program requires the completion of a registration form and submission of payment. Seminars fill quickly, so register early.
